057: raspberry rush

I realize I haven't kept up with my Student Feeding posts all year, perhaps out of distaste for the kind of things I've had to nosh. Here are a couple of the meatless meals that have been frequenting this tummy.

I could live on this. Shmeared some avocado on bread with splashes of balsamic vinegar and a pinch of salt.

My younger brother-figure Colin and I were cooking our own respective rices the other night. Mine was a long-grain mix with some spinach and feta.

His was "cheddar" rice. Interesting...

Whole wheat pasta swirls (blue menu, obv) with broccoli, canned tomates (a favorite of Steph and I), green olives and a bit of pesto.

Plus I saw this girl making a cake in the shape of a cheerleading vest. Thought it was cute.

News: I got a new place! Expect more home-made meals and ikea food procured in the furnishing process.

056: microwave mayo

Think about one of your friends.
With one word, you can summarize what they're about. 90% of discussions with this friend involve the word. As proof, here are several words, each corresponding to a buddy of mine: fashion, music, boy-drama and the apocalypse. Right now, mine is probably school. I don't talk about much else. The worst part about that, is because most've my school projects have involved food for the past couple months, I've felt less inclined to turn to my food blog as an escape.
Also, I'm broke.

Alas, with every blog hiatus comes a bounty of new pictures. This includes a new header!
The following group of food came from a wonderful night. I had dinner with my parents, met up with my pal Kayla from high school and saw Daniel's comedy show.

Guac, green soda, salsa verde.

Mushroom tacos

This is Kayla, eating pie at Futures (favorite place in high school).

Kayla's cherry pie.

My apple crumble!

055: apple orchard

Forgot about these pics of sushi consumed with my roommate. It ain't a 'ting.

Started off with these sushi-salad rolls.

Katie got the sushi-sashimi platter. I've had it before. It's a lot of fish.

Salmon-tongue.

I got a BBQ eel bowl with Japanese pickles.

It was so much food and our bellies ached but we continued with the night out...

And then downed Caesers!
