059: R.A.G.U.

The morning after the wedding and some terrifying bilingual karaoke, brunch was in order. My host had been raving about this Plateau vegan spot Aux Vivres so we walked over to something I honestly hadn't been expecting: a delicious filling meal.

It's so like me to take a picture of something I think looks cute... like coffee beans in a brown sugar shaker. Brown sugar is my sugar of choice, thanks oatmeal addiction.

Whenever I go to Montreal, I'm thoroughly disturbed by how much colder it is than Toronto. After a chilly walk in the Plateau, this chai latte couldn't be more welcome. It was spicy, gingery and excellent.

Cute colour scheme/ futura menu boards

I think this was a polenta? cool.

I got the tofu scramble with "bacon". I think Aux Vivres has several types of artificial bacon, one made of coconut being the popular choice for sandwiches and this being the breakfast one. Note the amazing sweet potato, side salad and cornbread.

This place is just really cute.

And little birds sit on the pendant lights.

We couldn't leave without grabbing a couple cookies for the road. Chocolate chip cookies that just happen to be slotted among maybe the top 3 best cookies I've ever had list.
